Qualifications

Larissa started singing at the early age and quickly realised that she wanted to become a musician. At the age of 9, she decided to learn bandura and singing and started to attend a Music school. At the age of 14 she entered the Ternopil College of Music, which she graduated from in 1987 with high distinction. She then was accepted to a very prestigious Kiev State Conservatorium, where she specialised in Classical Vocal, Conducting and Bandura. After moving to Australia in 1996 she completed her Masters Degree in Education at Sydney University. Larissa has made recordings with SBS Radio and Television Company, has appeared in Opera House, Multicultural Festivals, Musica Viva, Cafe Carnivale and Australia Day Concerts. She divides her time between performing, teaching at the Australian Institute of Music and conducting the Ukrainian Orthodox Church Choir and The Music society of UTS choir.

Teaching

Larissa teaches bandura to students of all ages and levels of experience, voice (classical and musical theatre) to students of all ages and levels of experience, theory of music and piano from beginner level to the 6th grade of AMEB.
